Injections

You may have seen in the media that GPs will be able to prescribe weight loss injections from June 2025. While this is correct, the local ICB have yet to fully commission the service therefore, Shifnal & Priorslee Medical Practice is not providing this service at present. 

Please note:  Access to this treatment will be strictly limited and based on national eligibility criteria. Only individuals who are Eligible will be invited directly when the programme begins.

we ask that patients do not book GP appointments for this purpose.

✅ Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify, the patient must have:

• A BMI of 40 or more

AND

• Have at least fourof the following five diagnosed conditions:

1. Hypertension (high blood pressure)
2. Obstructive sleep apnoea
3. Type 2 diabetes
4. Cardiovascular disease
5. High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia)
