Make an Appointment
All our calls are handled from our Integrated Care Navigation Centre and be contacted on 01952 460414*.
Your pharmacy can advise you on minor illness without the need of an appointment. Please speak to a pharmacist first.
Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals who can offer clinical advice, over the counter medicines and their use, to effectively and safely manage a range of minor health concerns. They can also help you to decide whether you’ll need to see a doctor. You don’t need an appointment and you won’t even be asked to make a purchase. Every pharmacy also has a private consultation area for you to talk about your symptoms in private if you prefer.
A percentage of appointments can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance to see a GP of your choice or up to 4 weeks in advance if your usual doctor is one of the Partners.
We also have a percentage of appointments which are available to book 48 hours in advance.
Your routine appointment will allow you to spend 10 minutes with the doctor. If you have a number of problems, the doctor may not be able to deal with all of them during this time and may ask you to book another appointment. This will avoid delaying patients waiting to see the doctor after you.
Ways To Book
If you have a medical emergency that cannot wait until the next routine appointment is available, you will be asked to come down to the practice.
You will be booked in with either the on-call doctor or nurse practitioner (depending on the nature of the problem).Whilst every effort will be made to see you as quickly as possible there could be a wait of up to 2 hours. Unfortunately we are unable to offer medical emergency appointments to fit in around work or school commitments.
We run an emergency only service at weekends and we are therefore unable to provide telephone advice. Please contact 111 if you require telephone advice at weekends.
If you have an urgent need which is not life-threatening.
NHS 111 health advisors are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help you get the right medical attention for your needs.
If you or someone you know has a life-threatening condition, such as loss of consciousness, chest pain, breathing difficulties etc, you should call 999
In an EMERGENCY call 999.
Emergencies are situations that cannot be managed at home and may be life threatening
* All calls made to Shifnal & Priorslee Medical Practice are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.
If you are cancelling please telephone us as soon as possible, and at least 30 minutes before your appointment time. This will enable us to offer your appointment to someone else.
Alternatively you can cancel your appointment online using Health Co-Pilot. You can cancel by going to Appointments and selecting Cancel or Rearrange an appointment. You can also cancel using the NHS app on the appointment reminder you have received.
Please remember that there may be a shortage of appointments and when you fail to attend you have prevented someone else from being seen in your place. On average about 230 appointments are missed each month
Cancellations notified less than 30 minutes before the appointment time will be recorded as failure to attend (DNA).
Repeated failure to attend booked appointments is a significant waste of NHS resources. Please see Missed Appointments for more information.
